Scarlett von Thenen has more than 20 years of experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (VDD) and their families. Her work has included advocacy, training, technical assistance, and navigating systems such as Regional Center services, special education, IHSS, healthcare, and Social Security.
Scarlett is a certified California POST instructor and a certificated Work Incentives Practitioner. She also has extensive experience as a benefits specialist, helping individuals with disabilities and their families understand Social Security benefits, employment, work incentives, and how earned income may impact public benefits. Her work is grounded in helping people better understand their options, access needed supports and make informed decisions.
